1. How do I replace the glass heater cover?
Too replace the heater cover make sure your SSV is off, unplugged and is not hot. Now grab your heater cover and twist and pull. When the cover comes off the cap and spacers may come off with it. Look how they go. There is a cap, a large spacer and a small spacer. To put your heater cover back on. First put the cap on. Then put the small spacer on with the large spacer over it to hold the cap down. The large spacer has a bent corner. This bent corner goes on top and holds the cap down. Now getly pull on your heater to get it to sit up high in the SSV. It will stop, do not keep pulling as you could damage the heater. Also when you pull on the heater you want to straighten up so that it is coming straight out the SSV. The heater must not touch the glass or it will crack the glass and this will not be covered by the warranty. Once you have your spacer on and the heater straight, twist and push your heater cover down. You may or may not want to push it all the way down. This is up to you and where you like your heat cover to be positioned. Now look to make sure your heater is not touching the glass. If it is you may have to put your heater cover back on. Or you can maybe use a toothpick or something to straighten the heater. Just make sure the heater is not touching the glass.
2. How do I switch out SSV bases?
To replace your base make sure you SSV is turned off and unpluged. Make sure the SSV is also cooled down. Turn the SSV upside down and remove the two screws. Take you base off and put your new one on. Now put the screws in the holes and screw the new base back down. Your done!
3. How do I change the SSV knob?
To replace your knob first turn your SSV off. If you have an older version your knob may not be removable. If you can look at where the knob is attached and it looks like blue plastic your knob will not come off. If it looks all metal you have a removable knob. Grab the knob trying not to grab the dial as it is the most fragile. It is easiest to grab with your thumb, pointer finger and middle finger. Pull slightly while prying your fingers in between the housing and the knob. It should pop right off. Now here is the important part, do not put it on too tight. If you put it on too tight and you want to take it off again, it could pull the shaft out of the temperature controller.
4. Why does the SSV not have a digital readout?
OK, so you want to know why the SSV does not use a digital readout. Well, I guess I have to answer that with a question of what is this digital readout supposed to read? The element? No I don't think so, that is not the temperature of the air going over your tobacco. The glass around the element? No, that too is not a good reading of the air passing over the tobacco. The only place to get a true readout would be in the tobacco chamber. Well now you would introduce more electronics in the vapor stream. The SSV keeps it simple allowing the product to be even more durable and longer lifespan. Come on, the new volcano vaporizer only offers a 2 year warranty on their digital version. One year less than standard. So you spend more for less reliability? OK. This goes with all things having more electronics. Remember the appliances from 20-30 years ago? They had less tech gadgets but would last and work well. Well, we have adopted those old school American principals. I agree it would be great to know the exact temperature of the air over the tobacco. But I assure you, this information is completely unnecessary. As long as you follow the directions in the SSV manual you will find your proper vaporizing temperature every time. Once you have it down, its like riding a bike. Really the more techy, the more of your money you send over to China.
5. Is the SSV made in the USA
The SSV is not 100% made in the USA. I do not think you can find hardly anything made 100% in the USA. Unfortunately, due to the way electronics are made we just can not find some parts made in the USA anymore. The SSV is built with as many parts we can economically and feasibly get in the USA. The SSV is 100% assembled here and packaged, unlike many other vaporizers on the market. We keep the SSV as much American Made as we can. This means more of your money stays here in the USA. We are also an American family owned company so again the final profits stay here in the USA. Always remember American may cost a little more but you get that feeling of pride knowing your hard earned dollars will stay in this country. Please support your local stores selling American Products, being of glass or anything else!
6. How do I use this thing?
The SSV is an easy tool to use. Watching this video ( Check out the Video on how to use the SSV ) you shoul dbe alb e to learn the SSV even easier.
7. How do I change the screen?
Changing the screen should be easy. That is just another benefit of the SSV! First get your clogged screen out buy picking it out with you supplied pick you got with your SSV. Now clean out any goodness that may have accumulated to assure a good screen fit. Now take your screen and put it in the front of the wand as far down as you can with your finger. Now take your pick an push the screen down till it hits the hour glass shape. Now here is the trick. Flip the screen. This aloows the screen to catch under the edge. Then push down the screen to get it in its groove. Your screen is now in!
